Muhtar Kent is a graduate of the English University of Hull, from which he has a Bachelor of Science in Economics, and from the Cass Business School in the City University of London, from where he holds a Master of Science in Administrative Science.
Experience
Muhtar Kent starts working for Coca-Cola in 1978, then becomes General Manager of Coca-Cola Turkey and Central Asia (1985), Chairman of Coca-Cola Central Europe (1989) as well as Coca-Cola International’s Senior Vice-President, in charge of 23 countries.
Muhtar Kent goes on to become the Managing Director for 12 countries under the umbrella of Coca-Cola Amatil-Europe. The beer and beverage company owned by Coca-Cola, Efes Beverage in Central Asia, Turkey and Europe, is also led by Kent between 1999 and 2005, as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.
In 2005, the Coca-Cola mother company appoints Muhtar Kent in the position of CEO and Chairman of the North Asia, Eurasia and Middle East branch. The following year, Kent is promoted to the position of Chairman of Coca-Cola International.
