Jeffrey Immelt

Education

In 1978, at Dartmouth College, Jeffrey Immelt earns his B.A. in applied mathematics. Jeff Immelt is also a graduate of Harvard University; he gets his M.B.A in 1982.

Experience

After he graduates from Harvard, Jeffrey Immelt starts working for General Electric (GE), in 1982. Immelt occupies various positions in General Electric’s different branches: healthcare, plastics, and appliances.

Jeff Immelt is promoted to General Electric’s Capital Board in 1989 and becomes a GE officer. Three years later, in 2000, Jeffrey Immelt is appointed Chairman and CEO of General Electric. Jeff Immelt is the 9th person to occupy that position within GE.

Anecdotes

Jeffrey Immelt belongs to The American Academy of Arts & Sciences. Mr Jeff R. Immelt has also chaired the Council on Job and Competitiveness under the aegis of President Barrack Obama.
