Hubert Sagnières holds a degree in economics from the Ecole Centrale de Lille and an MBA degree in economics from the European Institute of Business (INSEAD).
Career
In 1980, Hubert Sagnières joined Plastiserd SARL in Tahiti (French Polynesia) and soon became a General Director of the foundation. In 1985, he moved to Valois SA as a General Director Europe. In 1988, Hubert Sagnières was appointed as a General Director of Homespace.
In 1989, the career of Hubert Sagnières took a turn, when he joined Essilor International as a Marketing director of Verres division. In 1991, he moved from France to Canada, and took over a position of a President of Essilor Canada, Essilor Laboratories of America and Essilor of America.
In 2006, he was promoted to a CEO of Essilor North America and Europe. In 2008, he was appointed a Chief Operations Officer of the Essilor Group and in on the 1st of June 2010 he was named a CEO if Essilor International.
Since the 2 June 2012, Hubert Sagnières serves as a Chief Executive Officer of the Essilor Group.
Anecdotes
In 2007, Hubert Sagnières was appointed as a member of Essilor Vision Foundation, which objective is to improve the quality of eye examinations at schools and provide access to children from disadvantaged families.
