Qualifications
Olivier Piou received an engineering degree in 1980 from the Central Technical School of the Industrial Environment (“Ecole Centrale des Techniques de l’Environnement Industriel,”) which is a French company that manages a group of engineering colleges, based in Paris.
Career
CEO at Gemalto since 2006, Mr. Piou also serves as a member of the company’s executive board. Piou was President of Volume Products Business and Global Markets Segments from 2001 to 2004. He served as CEO and President of Smart Cards from 1998 to 2000. Prior to that position, he was Vice President of Marketing and Technology of e-Transactions. Piou’s career began at Schlumberger in 1981 at which company he held various positions in technology, marketing and operations divisions of Schlumberger in both France and the US. He also serves as Chairman of Eurosmart, which is an international non-profit in Brussels. Piou is also a member of the board of INRIA (Antional Research Institute of Information and Automation.). Piou was a Director of Alcatel-Lucent, S.A. since 2008.
