Philippe Lazare graduated as an architect from the Ecole Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-La Défense.
Career
Lazare began his career with the automobile manufacturer PSA Peugeot Citroën (Groupe PSA). He held a number of management positions before joining Sextant Avionics in 1990. In 1994 Lazare left Sextant Avionics to become the Deputy Managing Director of Industrial Logistics division of Groupe Air France. In this position he was also Chairman of SERVAIR, Air Frances catering, cleaning and airport services subsidiary.
In 1998 Lazare left the aviation industry to become Managing Director of Lucien Barrière, the renowned casino and luxury hotel group.
Lazare’s next career step was came in 2001, when he was appointed CEO of Eurotunnel SA, with responsibility for managing the operations of the Channel Tunnel infrastructure.
In 2003 Lazare joined La Poste S.A as the group’s Director in charge of purchasing, property and cost control. He went on to hold positions of senior responsibility as the General Manager Retail operations and CEO and Chairman of La Poste S.A’s real estate subsidiary Poste Immo.
In February 2005 Lazare was appointed a Director of Ingenico. He was promoted to Managing Director in July 2007. In January 2010 he was appointed Chairman and CEO.
Anecdotes
Philippe Lazare's contribution to civil life in France was officially recognised on 13th July 2007 when he received the title of Knight of the Legion of Honour. In December 2012, the French business magazine ‘Challenges’ (http://www.challenges.fr) ranked Philippe Lazare as the most successful business leader in terms of profitability, growth prospects and stock market performance of a company with sales of greater than one billion Euro.
