Training / Background

Patrice Caine’s educational journey laid the foundation for his remarkable career.

At both Ecole Polytechnique and École Nationale Supérieure des Mines de Paris he pursued two undergraduate degrees, equipping himself with a strong academic background.

These institutions provided him with a robust foundation in engineering and leadership, setting the stage for his subsequent accomplishments in various executive roles and ultimately leading him to his current position as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer at Thales SA.

Career 

A distinguished graduate of École Polytechnique and École des Mines de Paris, he embarked on his professional journey in 1992 with the pharmaceutical group Fournier before transitioning to Charterhouse Bank Limited in London, where he offered valuable insights into mergers, acquisitions, and corporate strategy.

From 1995 to 2002, Patrice Caine held various executive positions within the French administration, amassing invaluable experience.

In 2002, he joined the Thales Group’s Strategy department and later assumed responsibility for multiple operating units, including Air & Naval, Communications, Navigation & Identification, and more.

His career at Thales reached a zenith in December 2014 when he was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

Alongside his role at Thales, he has held pivotal positions on the Boards of Directors of influential companies, including Naval Group and L’Oréal.

Beyond his corporate achievements, Patrice Caine has been actively involved in shaping the landscape of French industry.

He has held prominent positions, such as Vice-President of GIFAS, Chairman of ANRT, Vice-President of France Industrie, and roles within the Conseil National de l’Industrie and Comité de Surveillance des Investissements d’Avenir.
