Indra Nooyi holds an MBA degree from the Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta, and a Master degree in commerce from the University of Yale, USA.
Career
Indra Nooyi began her professional career with Boston Consulting Group. For the following six years she worked on a variety of international corporate-strategy projects. In 1986, she moved over to Motorola as a senior executive and then to Asea Brown Boveri as a head of strategy in 1990.
In 1994 she joined the PepsiCo Group as a chief strategist. Her key achievements at the company included the decision to spin off PepsiCo restaurant division in 1997, which led to a demerger of KFC, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell holdings into a separate company. Nooyi also followed the strategy of PepsiCo key competitor Coca-Cola, and sold PepsiCo bottling operations in 1999. Under her guidance, PepsiCo acquired several large food and beverage companies, such as Tropicana, Quaker Oats and a beverage company SoBe.
In 2001, Indra Nooyi was promoted to a position of a chief financial officer, and a year later she was also appointed as a president of a company.
On 14th August 2006, Indra Nooyi succeeded Steven Reinemung in a position of a CEO of PepsiCo group, and in 2007 she was also appointed as a chairman of the board of the Group.

Nooyi was named to Institutional Investor's Best CEOs list in the All-America Executive Team Survey in 2008 to 2011.
